Mountain Wake Games will be held on May 18-19, 2019. MWG is an annual event that brings athletes, their families, and spectators together for two fun days filled with wakeboarding, contests, food, vendors, music, and door prizes. Athletes will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in three different wakeboarding disciplines: cable, boat, and winch. MWG is sanctioned by the World Wakeboard Association and serves as the first of multiple stops in the newly formulated Southern Wake Series Points Chase, with payouts in the Pro Divisions. MWG is held on a closed course at Flip Side Watersports, located inside of Oak Mountain State Park in Birmingham, Alabama.

Day 1
The day begins with a Cable Contest (broken down into five divisions) which allows riders to earn valuable bonus points that will be added to the points they accumulate through the boat contest at MWG and the remaining stops on the tour. During the Cable Contest, riders challenge themselves on a closed course of custom-built ramps and rails pulled by a Sesitec 2.0 Cable System. Once the Cable Contest concludes, we allow a short window for boat practice while we set up for a nighttime Rail Jam. The Rail Jam is a demo offered by Kraken Boardsports' (an MWG Sponsor) to the MWG participants and pulled with winches. The Rail Jam allows riders the opportunity to bond and form relationships with other riders and industry personnel without the pressure of a competition. The Rail Jam is not a contest and does not count towards or against any accumulative points.

Day 2
It’s all about the boats! The Boat Contest, the main event of MWG, is how the riders will earn the majority of their points to begin the Southern Wake Series Point Chase. The Boat Contest is held on a separate closed course on the same lake as the Cable Contest and the Rail Jam; making it the only event of its kind to have three different wakeboarding disciplines held on the same lake. Sixteen divisions of beginner, intermediate, advanced, and pro wakeboarders, wake skaters, and wake surfers are towed behind a Nautique G23, provided by Russell Marine (an MWG sponsor), performing their best tricks in front of a shore lined with vendors and spectators. The Boat Contest is followed by an Awards Ceremony to recognize the riders and their achievements.
